Lori - the loving giving thing is a mental state of preparation. There are too many people who sit around pining for someone to rescue them from heartache. You have to take the bull by the horns and wrestle this dating/relationship thing.

That said, once I'm out there loving and giving, I totally expect reciprocation. If it's one-sided and I feel taken advantage of, I'm out of there quick!

How do you spot a jerk? QTMama had a nice post on that recently...<a href="http://qtmama.wordpress.com/2008/11/11/what-a-jerk/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">How do Women Spot a Jerk?</a>

I think it's honorable that you don't kiss and tell (unless its bad or worse.)
Tell me though, I've always been a giving, loving person, and all I've gotten back so far was a cheating ex-husband, a boyfriend who ignored me and never gave anything in return, and a guy I dated recently who called me a stalker because I drove down his street the day after a really sweet date that we had. (And I live one block away from him, and was driving my kid over to a friends house.)

So don't you ever get tired of being loving and giving, only to never get it in return?
