It’s the season for college football bowl games – the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and all those other bowls that are named after sponsors (I’m surprised there isn’t a Miley Cyrus bowl yet. Doh!) It’s also time for the NFL playoffs, ending with the king of all football games, the Super Bowl.
As a lifelong football fan, I should be rabid right now – stocking up on beer, preparing nacho platters, making friendly bets with family and friends. But something strange is going on. For the first time ever, I kind of don’t care about the sport. Neither college or pro. And it bothers me.
Where did my football passion go?

Lots of women will see losing “football passion” as intriguing.
It’s a great opening line . . .speaking of booty calls.
Looking forward to hearing the update.

I’m definitely trying to find my football passion. My new husband is from the South, and I have learned in the past few months that its all about football in the South. I believe action begets action, so maybe you just need to park yourself in front of the TV for the first game of the day and that’ll help? Good luck!

Oh, if that were me, I’d be calling 911. That’s like not finding a pulse.

This year is the first time ever I’ve caught football fever.
(Go Ravens!!) I am really enjoying getting into the sport. My BF eats sleeps and breathes it and I used to just roll my eyes at all crazy football talk. Now I’m right there with them! In fact, I got a Flacco jersery for Christmas this year. If you don’t have team in the playoffs, root for my boy Flacco and the Ravens!

Hey Dave, maybe you should try a dose of “Aussie Rules”. Bigger field, no padding, no helmets. Fast and furious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65NdEJDNNfE

You might like it. It’s more like a religion here.

Click the Silicon Valley Mom’s link, people. The article gets better over there.
Dad’s, I doubt that you’d ever live like a monk for long, even if you got back into watching football. Your future mate will reap the rewards of your other activities, though. A man who cooks, reads, is great with his kids, bikes, hikes, sails, enjoys good wine AND knows his way around in the back of a mercedes? Mmmmmm-mmmm, very nice.
