Definitely, if you twitter on your phone in the middle of a real-world event, you are escaping the present moment. I did that during the super bowl - I was busy texting a friend on the east coast when one of the team's scored a TD, and I missed it. Blogging - yes, you are thinking about how folks will react. But when you sit down to write a blog post, you are focused and present to the task at hand, namely, blogging. If you are constantly checking your twitter stream when your attention and focus should be elsewhere, then twitter is taking you away from the present moment. When we blog, we're thinking about how our not-present audience is going to react. Besides that, it's just another tool and it depends on how you use it. I don't tweet on my phone.
