I just read your A father putting the F in FDIC. I think what you are doing with your kids are great. I have a 3 year daughter whom I have opened a saving account for but never thought about putting that money into a CD or even the stock market. I will be looking into opening a CD in her name as the rate is better (even if just a little) than a saving account. Thanks for the ideas!

so…if “F” stands for father…then what is the “DIC” for?

Officially, it’s “Deposit Insurance Corporation”. Unofficially, it might be “Daughter Insists on Cash”. Haha.

I use to remind the kids that MOM does NOT stand for “Made Of Money”
