White Hot Tantra on Valentine’s Day
I’m in between dating relationships, and sort of in a dry spell. With Valentine’s Day perhaps the suckiest day all year for a first-date or even a hookup, what’s a single dad flying solo to do this Saturday night?
A group session of White Tantra.
No, it’s not an orgy. That would be sex of the red tantra variety. This white tantra session will be about breathing in each moment, connecting on deeper levels, finding bliss, and being totally present to other horny-ass alone-on-Valentine’s singles. (With any luck, it will be followed promptly by drinks and a scavenger hunt for the red tantra jugular vein.)
Breathing may sound boring, but it’s really not about that. It’s directing root chakra sexual energy with intention. Tantra rocks.
In a previous piece about tantric sex, I swore I’d never attend a white tantra group session. After all, I might be paired with a tantra goddess who is 80 years old. But I just figure, that’s a positive, right? There’s nothing like a chemistry-draining mismatch to put white tantra to the ultimate test.
You see, beginners tantra doesn’t include tantra massage or tantra yoga or tantric sex. I’m guessing I’ll be asked to gaze into the eyes of whichever tantra goddess they hook me up with (please be the thirty-something hottie who’s out to meet a partner for a long-term rigorous study of the red tantra arts), take some deep breaths, let the sexual energy rise to the crown, and let out a nice phat namaste. Ommmm.
And so, dear reader, think of me this Valentine’s Day as I get my spiritual freak on with a sexy white tantra goddess I haven’t yet met. (The things I do for this blog!)
Check back next week for a full report.

Yow!!!!!!!!! Sounds like a hot V-day, Dad’s. I’m petitioning the universe for you to get paired up with a total white tantra hottie for potential red tantric fun.
p.s. I need to seriously find out if there are any such workshops in my area. Who knew?

Hot. Lemme know how that goes. A young hottie would be preferable, obviously.
I’m throwing a party tomorrow night and inviting every hot chick that crosses my path between now and then. Clearly, that’s the best way for a bachelor to spend V-Day.

That sounds like a PERFECT way to spend Valentine’s day!!! Whether she’s 80 or 30, remember LOVE… and then take all that energy and send it out in to the universe. We can only get what we give away.
And when I went to San Francisco, I should’ve worn flowers in my hair…. because I am SUCH a philosophical hippie love freak! Long live Haight-Ashbury!
P.S. I love Katherine’s comment. Ha!

LOL Cats: “Spiritual VD” ?!! That takes the cake as the funniest pun I’ve seen today! Keep up the humour, sister!
Dads: where are these crazy classes you’re taking? You certainly have raised my local curiosity… :)

Teri – think I should dress like Mike Myers in the Love Guru?
Lance – awesome party idea! Tell them all you’ll be doing tantra.
Cheery-Wise – I don’t want to catch spiritual VD. Is there a spiritual condom I should wear?

This could be the funniest comment section ever on this often humor filled place! I needed a good dose of laughter today and I found it. :)
Welll now, Dad’s certainly wins the prize for coming up with a great single Valentine’s idea. Really, what could be better?
Have fun and if she’s there- flirt, Dad’s, flirt!

Ah a weekend that means much to so many. As I attempted to explain to my daughter, it is a day that is meant to celebrate love… and yet people end up being upset or sad or disappointed more than not. Love is something to celebrate every day, not just Valentine’s day.
I can’t wait to hear about your weekend!

I love the idea of using meditation to find connection with others (even if they are an 80 yr old Goddess). I can’t think of a more perfect way to spend VD.
I got a VD breakfast in bed, made by my 9 yr old. My day is complete!

Edgar – wow, that video is great! Gloria Estefan with Marc Anthony. I love their dance halfway through the video. That put a big smile on my face. She’s a way better singer than JLo. No comparison.
Abby – your breakfast sounds perfect.
Vinomom – don’t you take your espresso with a twist of lemon?

Tantra ROCKS. I’m SO glad you’re into it. You just scored extra brownie points with me. There’s a lot more to tantra than just sex, and a lot more to sex once you practise tantra.

Oops, the Osho quote is missing there, here it is:
“Become loving. When you are in the embrace, become the embrace. Become the kiss. Forget yourself so totally that you can say, “I am no more. Only love exists.” Then the heart is not beating, but love is beating. Then the blood is not circulating, but love is circulating. Then eyes are not seeing, love is seeing. Then hands are not moving to touch, love is moving to touch. Become love and enter everlasting life. Love suddenly changes your dimension. You are thrown out of time and you are facing eternity. Love can become a deep meditation, the deepest possible. Lovers have known sometimes what saints have not known.”
