Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony – Mi Tierra

In honor of US income tax season (they’re due in three weeks!), I am doing my taxes. And so in lieu of a regular Dad’s House post, check out this video featuring Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony performing Mi Tierra.

Watch for the moment 2:15 in when Marc Anthony kicks off his shoes. Think he’s got latina lover (and wife) J.Lo on his mind? Um… keep watching. I love how Gloria Estefan sings up a storm. She’s an awesome latina performer, and was recently named an Icon at the 16th Latin Music Awards. But forget the awards – she can shake her latina booty better than J.Lo, any day.

Still watching? 3:20 in… ready?  3:30 in… ahhhhhh! That put a smile on my face!

Thanks to Edgar, an occasional Dad’s House commentator, for hooking me up with this Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony live concert video, Mi Tierra. Check the comments from my White Hot Tantra post.

A bit of latina music love is always good. Mi Tierra is worth a watch.

Now then, back to tax codes…

  1. It made me want to get up and move. I hear salsa dancing is in. Wonder if I could get lessons? You think Mr Anthony is around??
I do have to say, and nitpicking here, what was she thinking with those pants? Fairly scary.

Happy tax crunching. I am so thankful I pay someone else to do that for me. So thankful.

  2. I have been a huge salsa fan for years, ever since Marc Anthony released “Contra la Corriente”, a staple in my CD player. His voice is magical (although I can get by not looking at him). I love Latin music – so passionate and heartfelt. Now to just avoid Latin men, another super-passionate (and jealous/controlling) staple of my past… ;)

Estefan is a gifted performer for sure.

  7. Bravo! Que’ maravilla!

I feel a maragarita or mojito night coming on~

I’ve only three words about you crunching numbers, Dad’s. Math Lady 3. Hope you’ve got a date lined up for April! Perhaps she’d like to meet you for a salsa lesson?

If not, I’m tempted to ask you out and fly on down for a lesson myself. You have fabulous taste in music, Dad’s! Thanks for sharing the video. It’s just what I needed to get moving on this dreary rainy spring break morning up north. :)

  8. I’m so pumped by this video, I’m wearing all white and reading the Spanish language version of the tax codes… and I don’t speak Spanish!

    Ole’!

  9. I swear you are reading my mind…I just made an appointment today to get my taxes done!

  11. Speaking of fevers – spring being just one version – Gloria Estefan can really set those toes to tapping (and caramba! what she makes my hips do…) I’m glad you liked the clip, David. May you salsa your way to bliss once you get your taxes done. I may just have to go visit Cafe Cocomo ahorrita, after watching Gloria and Mark mambo.

Maybe we should organize an “I rocked the cabana” salsa-fest for the Dadshouse faithful. If we can’t make it to Cuba or Puerto Rico, we could surely find space on the dance floor here in Ess Eff.
