Craig Ferguson is Funny
I’ve caught Craig Ferguson on CBS’s Late Late Show a handful of times over the years. He’s that Scottish-American comedian who comes on after Letterman. I always thought Craig Ferguson was funny, but I was never up that late on a regular basis, at least not watching TV. Plus, I think his Scottish accent made me think I’d tripped onto some late night BBC feed or something. I didn’t know he had a nightly show.
When U2 appeared on Letterman for a week this year, I Tivo’d the show every night. One of those nights, Craig Ferguson was Letterman’s guest, and I decided to Tivo his show. And you know what? Now I’m hooked. I record it every night, and watch when I have time. I’m starting to watch more of his Late Late Show than Italian Serie A soccer, so you know my addiction is serious. This past weekend, my teen daughter and I sat and watched three Craig Ferguson Late Late Show episodes in a row.
What’s this got to do with single parenting? Ah, where to start…
- If your kid is keeping you up late, and you need to veg and laugh… tune into CBS and watch Craig Ferguson. He has me grinning ear to ear, and laughing out loud, with almost every show. How many people on TV do that to you?
- If your kids are with your ex, and you’re up late, and you need to veg and laugh… Craig Ferguson to the rescue (see above)
- If your kids are with you, and you all need to veg and laugh… Warning: Craig Ferguson’s humor is pretty darn suggestive. Both my teens were highly amused.
Craig Ferguson does laugh-my-ass-off funny impersonations of Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Prince Charles, Larry King (not drunk, but hilarious), and others.
Check this video clip to see Craig being himself. It’s a sample Craig Ferguson Late Late Show monologue, with jabs at Octomom, viagra, and Elton John, as well as a celebration of waffles in Sweden. You’ll crack a smile, for sure.

He’s hilarious! I love the accent actually, mmm. I’ll have to see if I can find him on SKY, we get Leno usually a few days behind what you see in the US.

So funny! And he now squashes my husband’s theory that comedians are hot just because of their humor. This guy is hot because of his accent!

Please please please tell me you watched Craig last night.
I missed the first minute of the 2 minute opening with him lip syncing along with the puppets. What was that song? Do you know? I wished I had seen the whole thing. What I did see made me laugh so hard, I was in tears. I just went to the CBS webiste, but no dice…nothing posted yet and even if it were, they do not allow their video clips to play off Canadian computers..( ? what is with that anyway on the ” world wide web”)
Thanks for the Chicken and Dumplings recipe!

I’ve always liked David Letterman better than Jay Leno. But now I like Craig Ferguson better than either of them. I swear, I laugh out loud and grin from ear to ear when I watch Craig. He is LMAO funny!
Dawn – I saw the lip sync. I don’t know the song. Sorry! It was sort of raggae-ish. Words like “rockin’ the dance hall” or something. Sorry!!

I’ve seen 2-3 CF shows and I haven’t gotten into it…something about his humor I haven’t quite gotten yet. I’ll try again. I prefer Leno over Letterman, although I don’t watch either regularly. My faves are John Stewart and Colbert, and I think Bill Maher is the MAN!
