Yeah Yeah Yeahs Live on Letterman – Youtube

I’m obsessed with the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album – It’s Blitz!
I’ve always found Yeah Yeah Yeahs sound to be mesmerizing, especially Karen O’s voice. It’s Blitz! traded the punk edginess of their first album for a cleaner synthesized sound. But it’s still Yeah Yeah Yeahs, still Karen O, still captivating and worth hearing over and over again…
Here’s a youtube clip of Zero performed by Yeah Yeah Yeahs on Letterman in April 2009. If you’ve never heard Yeah Yeah Yeahs before, click play now! (If you have heard them, you already did…)
Have a great weekend.

You need to do a getaway weekend and come rock with me! Even my neighborhood Ribfest has the Annuals and Office playing. Last weekend at antoher block party Menomena played! I’ve never heard of them but I’m ALWAYS open to new music. You can certainly hear the U2 inspiration in the sounds and very 80’s-ish too. I like it. Thank you for sharing.
Hope you are well, David. Enjoy your weekend.

I haven’t heard of them either. She sounds (and looks) a little like Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. I liked their throwback 80s sound, but the song wasn’t too memorable – not one to stick in my head, sorry I didn’t love it, but thanks for linking the video. Is that her 16 yr old son on guitar? :P

CBG – that’s why it’s called alternative rock, I suppose. I like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversun Pickups, Radiohead, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, New Order, … To each his own!

T described their sound perfectly. This isn’t a CD I’d buy, but I’ll probably download a couple of songs to include on a mix for running. Thanks.
Hey Dad’s, did you catch Craig the other night when Dame Edna was on? When the Dame overstayed her welcome, he started to get a very crazed look on his face. It struck me as funny and I had a full on giggle fest going on the sofa. I love it when he gets that whacked out “oh sh*t, what now?” look!
Cheers and happy weekend~
