Funny post, both here – and on SVMoms! But the fact is, many dating dads out there aren’t in the “peak” condition that you are. To my surprise (when I jumped back into the dating waters), many men from 40 on up are on pills other than the little blue ones. Anti-depressants. They lessen or kill off libido and sexual performance. Peek at my post on Sex and the Dating Dilemma of SSRIs for a little more on the topic.
And happy days for that woman who found a fish to swim with who wasn’t on meds!

I wouldn’t make that generalization about men at all. I think it has more to do with his health and lifestyle than age. Personally I know sex has only gotten better as I get older so why not for men too?

Hahahahaha! I’ve never heard that one before, and I always thought that men were usually much older than that to have such a problem. Either that or they’ve always had a problem.
But now that you brought it up, I wonder how the stereotype became the stereotype.

Full disclosure: the “men over 40 don’t get hard” comment came from a 35 year old woman. The Cosmopolitan connection is my own imagining. The “dang, you’re virile” comment came from a woman in her 40s.
I’m loving the comments over at SV Moms! Seems there are some virile 40-something men out there. Spread the word!
