Tiger and Elin – Can Marriage Survive an Affair?
Tiger Woods allegedly had an affair.
Er, make that multiple affairs.
Not with one mistress, but rumors say with nine.
Head over to the Hot Dads Blog for a discussion about marital infidelity.
Should Tiger and Elin Stay Married?

Remember, Tiger’s transgressions are alleged. We don’t know details. We’re not here to judge. But celeb rumors sometimes provide talking points for debate.

Well, you made me think. And you inspired tomorrow’s post. The only problem I see is that there are still far too many variables to consider. I mean, there are feelings and personal history. There are public images and private lives. There are two kids and a couple of dogs and now an ailing mother to consider. (And I haven’t even started to really delve into the issue…)
Hmmm. Gotta go write…

It depends.
Infidelity is curable. If he wants it too be. The problem is, it looks like he only had to evaluate it, do to it being public. And with the rumour of nine, he will never be monogamous. He will always have a problem with his temptations.
My bet is, is that he does not love her, and really, with the amount of money they have, Elin deserves a husband who will love her. She will always be set financially set, the co-parenting will probably be successful, he will continue to be the playboy. And she can be in a loving happy marriage.
I noticed the bags under her eyes in that picture… She isn’t happy. That’s a publicity shot. Ever one, I’m now seeing in a new light. Look at his exuberant happiness (or faking of) and then look at the simple and framed smile that she provides. This was a marriage that shouldn’t of happened.
It’s sad really.

No one ever knows what really goes on between two people. The public nature of their relationship makes it even more difficult for whatever they might work out – acceptable to them – to be survivable.
Personally, I think there are some for whom monogamy just doesn’t work. Ever. If that person is with someone who needs monogamy, it ain’t gonna work. (And then there are issues of health, falling in love, a few extra babies appearing you never know when, and so on… )
But it’s a bit like Bill and Hillary. Their business. Period.

I don’t condone affairs either. but it is ultimately their decision.. not ours to make for them.

There is no way this thing lasts. “My marriage is a sham,” is one quote from Tiger, spoken by one of his Vegas bimbos. There’s too much partying and too many high priced hookers and too many skeezy hookups in hotels. This makes Eliot Spitzer look like a saint.
Maybe if hubby had gotten drunk one night and hooked up once, you could move on, but there’s way too much abuse of power/money here. She needs to take his money and get the fuck out of dodge.

It all depends.
Honestly, we don’t really know what happened between them other than him admitting to cheating.
We never know what went on behind closed doors or if she cheated too.
With a husband always traveling, it’s so easy.
I just know that I wouldn’t stay married to a man that cheated.

It is so hard to even think about this, I feel like they both will be totally broken people after this (though in different ways, and they may not even realize it).

It’s difficult to comment on somebody else’s relationship. I think we can all say that there are things that happen behind closed doors that we, as outsiders, cannot fully understand unless we are there.
That said, I firmly believe that there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse to cheat. If you want to be with somebody else, be man enough to say so and leave, instead of humiliating your family and become pathetic tabloid fodder.

I just can’t believe that tiger loves Elin. If he did, he would not have been having repeated affairs starting when they were honeymooners. This blows my mind. Tiger only wants to reconcile his marriage to Elin to save his brands and get back his lost fans. He isn’t thinking of her at all…only HIM.
