Frazzled and Stressed Single Parent
I’m stressed.
I’m frazzled.
I’m losing my mind.
But don’t worry, I’m just a single parent!
Usually I keep my cool as a single dad raising teens. But this week already has me batty.

Thanks for this post, Dads. I start to see you as a perfectly put-together padre and was beginning to think only MOMS could work ourselves into such frazzled frenzies.
So you are human, too. YAY!
Drinks and sex sound like a perfect remedy–my margaritas are FAMOUS up and down the East Coast…

This sounds like Yun’s life last week when she had a job interview and left her sons home and one son sat on his expensive violin and broke it. URGH!
I just have cats who can fend for themselves. This parenting thing is very complex! I told Yun…ask for help…many times I can rearrange my schedule and lend a hand.
Single parents don’t have to fend the storm for themselves. Many times there are single friends who are very willing to help out AND who like kids!…or who could wait for the plumber!…or could have a drink waiting when you got home!

ha yes, this sounds so much like my world – too many days I am supposed to be in 2 places at once with a couple more on the side lines and then, kerplonk, the additional (toilet blocked) spanner in the works falls right down on you!!! Hope you kept those legs crossed for long enough for the fixed loo and the fingers crossed for the drinking and sex !

Dave, its a good story, but asking another parent to bring home is what I try to do when I have to be in three places at once. I have learned to lean on others, and reciprocate when I can.
Who needs an excuse for drinks and sex?

Ditz – I’m in a lacrosse carpool with another mom, but her son isn’t practicing this week, and so I had to do all the driving myself. Otherwise, I’d be leaning.
Mama Llama – I like blogging about the good stuff more than the bad, but I definitely have my moments. Of course, witless self deprecation is a good thing, in my book.

I know how you feel minus the teens. I have a toddler who i am trying to potty train, I am in grad school full time, I am trying to land a freelancing job and I am trying to go from single parent mode to engaged parent mode. I still feel very single. My fiancees schedule is insane and I feel like I am looking over his shoulder w.everything her does.

Been there, done that! Never took to drinking, but raising three on my own, often used heavy dose of sitting in car by myself with music, just to be alone and defrag.
