I showed up at a local Laser Tag place to pick up my son from a youth group outing. He was paling around with some boys a year younger than him. No one I knew. But they were excited to see me.
They came over to me, bowing, proclaiming: We’re not worthy!
“Did you invent Google?” one [...]

I was recently at a restaurant bar with a single mom friend, catching up over drinks. (I tried dating her a few summers back, and the chemistry wasn’t there for more than friendship.)

The last time I was surrounded by so many women was last fall at Book Group Expo in San Jose. The expo allowed book lovers to discuss [...]

Want to marry a millionaire? Of course you do. All other things being equal – looks, personality, intelligence, spirit – why not pick a man of means? Money isn’t everything, but it sure can enable a comfortable lifestyle. (And what woman couldn’t use an extra Prada bag or two…)
Here are some Bay Area hot spots [...]

On the way to school this morning my kids and I saw a bumper sticker that read: My Golden Retriever is Smarter Than Your Honor Roll Student. I didn’t find it particularly amusing, but my daughter cracked up.
“Why is that funny?” I asked.
“Not all schools are equal,” she said. “An honor roll student someplace else [...]
